NURPAT

Nurse-led telehealth, built to Nigeria's scope-of-practice rules.

A telehealth platform connecting licensed Nigerian nurses with patients for remote consultations over text, audio and video. It is built around the Nursing & Midwifery Act's scope-of-practice requirements rather than retrofitted to them.

Consultations run peer-to-peer over WebRTC with a TURN server for the networks where that does not work, and an AI triage step sorts intake before a nurse's time is spent on it.

How it is built

  • Scope-of-practice constraints encoded in the consultation flow, not left to policy documents.
  • WebRTC video with a Coturn TURN relay for restrictive mobile networks.
  • Real-time presence and messaging over Phoenix-style channels on Django Channels and Redis.
  • Paystack for payment and Africa's Talking for SMS, so both sides work on Nigerian rails.
  • AI triage on intake to prioritise consultations.
